Call for Concept Notes: Research & Documentation

Zishaye Grassroots Fund is looking for concepts that seek to document and share inspiring narratives, build evidence to inform interventions, document best practices and challenges in social justice work for effective civic engagement and learning. The fund  seeks to support grassroots initiatives because we believe communities that are directly affected by these issues are the most effective at leading efforts to address them. Zishaye Grassroots Fund is calling for proposals for  research that focuses on rural women’s experiences and struggles in the Land, Water and Climate Justice sector in Northern Uganda.

CivFund has two major research grant categories: Collaborative Research Grants and African Feminist Rooted Research on Exploring Emerging Social Justice and Human Rights Research Grants. Collaborative research grants are grants to partners who have identified a specific research area in human rights and social justice and a potential partner to work with. African Feminist Rooted Research Grants focus on bringing together theory and practice on women’s economic justice.

Does this describe you? If so we want to hear from you!

  • You self-identify as feminist, able to bring together theory and practice on women’s economic justice.

  • You are well versed with feminist research approaches that seek to reveal lived realities of those that are most impacted.

  • You can illustrate a clear linkage between the proposed research and the change that the research seeks to make.

  • If you are a Zishaye Grassroots Fund grantee, you can demonstrate the linkage of the proposed intervention to ongoing work supported by the Zishaye Grassroots Fund.

  • For collaborative research grants, you have identified a research topic and a potential research partner to work with.

If this fits your profile, then this call is for you!
